Method 1 – Convert Currency using Standard Google Search
The easiest method to convert Currency online is to use the standard Google Homepage. Simply type the following into the Google Search Box: 100 USD to
As you can see, Google automatically provides a list of common currencies you can choose from while at the same time displays the EURO conversion rate along with a 5 year history chart. Either keep typing the currency or click with your mouse. The process works the same on mobile devices which can be a pretty handy tip for those travelling around the globe. Here’s a shot from my iPhone.
Method 2 – Convert Currency using Google Finance Calculator Page
The next method is super simple (although pretty ugly) and possibly even easier than the first method since you don’t need to remember a currency abbreviation. This can be handy if your trying to get the conversion rate of some obscure currency. Simply goto http://www.google.com/finance/converter
I counted over a hundred currencies from the dropdown menu
Again, if your on the road here’s how it looks on my iPhone
Method 3 – Convert Currency using an iGoogle Gadget
The third and final method I found to have Google convert your Currency was by adding a Currency Converter to your iGoogle page although you don’t actually need to be logged into your Google account for this to work. Goto http://www.google.com/webmasters/igoogle/currencyconverter.html and Click the button See rates on iGoogle.
You should be taken to your iGoogle Page and the calculator should be sitting there waiting for you.
Great thing about Google is they give you several different ways to use their currency conversion tool. I personally prefer the first method however I did add the Gadget to my Finance Tab on my iGoogle page. Do you know a simple trick?
